We need you!!

Are you a musician based in and around the Poynton area? We’re looking for more members, and need you!

The Band rehearse most Wednesdays at the Band Room of the Poynton RBL (George’s Road West, Poynton, SK12 1JY) from 8pm - 10pm. At the end of each rehearsal there are some social drinks in the RBL bar. Once a month we also take a longer break in the middle of rehearsals for tea and cake. Visitors, whether they be listening, observing or playing are always welcome.

The Band does not hold auditions, but does suggest for a minimum standard of around grade 5 or equivalent. What is more important is a willingness to work at improving musically and a desire to have fun. Please note that this Band is a community ensemble and musicians are not paid for performing in concerts or other events.

Membership to the Band is open to all regardless of citizenship, age, gender identity, marital or civil partnership status, being pregnant or on maternal leave, disability, race (including colour, nationality or ethnic origin) religious belief, sex or sexual orientation.

At present we are keen to hear from new players who play:

Oboe

Bassoon

Bb Clarinet

Alto Saxophone

Horn

Trumpet

Trombone

Percussion

Members of the Band are not expected to have served in HM Armed Forces or Commonwealth Forces.

The Band do request that members are willing to uphold the values and ethos of the Royal British Legion.
